Milovan Đorić (Милован Ђорић) was born on 6 August 1945. He is from Serbia. He is known as a former football manager. He was also a former football player. Milovan Đorić joined Sloboda Titovo Užice in 1963 and helped them earn promotion to the Yugoslav Second League in 1965. He then moved to Red Star Belgrade in 1967, winning four league titles and three cups over six seasons, including two league-and-cup doubles. In 1973, he went to Spain to play for Oviedo, struggled with an Achilles injury in his first season, helped the team return to La Liga the following year, and then retired. Đorić played for Yugoslavia once at the international level. He started and played the full 90 minutes in a 1–1 home friendly draw against Romania on 3 September 1969. After returning to manage in El Salvador, Milovan Đorić later became coach of the FR Yugoslavia under-21 team for the 2000 UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifiers. A heavy 6–2 loss to Croatia brought backlash, but he refused to resign and still led the team to second place before they lost to England in the play-off. In 2001 he was appointed FR Yugoslavia senior team coach, but was sacked after winless World Cup qualifying results and criticism over his tactics and substitutions, including conflict with Predrag Mijatović. He later managed Serbia’s under-17 team and resigned after a poor 2011 European Championship on home soil. Milovan Đorić played for Red Star Belgrade and won several titles with them, including multiple Yugoslav First League championships between 1967 and 1973. He also won the Yugoslav Cup several times and later played in Spain’s Segunda División in 1974–75 with Oviedo.
