Full Article on WikipediaConstantine, born in the 820s or 830s and dying before 836, was an infant prince of the Amorian dynasty. He briefly ruled the Byzantine Empire as a co-emperor alongside his father, Theophilos, sometime in the 830s. Very little is known about his life and official time as emperor. He was installed as co-emperor not long after his birth. His death is recorded as happening before 836, and one possibility is that he died after falling into a cistern in the palace.
Constantine was born to Byzantine Emperor Theophilos and Empress Theodora and was likely their eldest son. Theophilos named him Constantine and made him co-emperor shortly after his birth, but Constantine died as an infant, with historians giving different dates for his birth and death (ranging roughly from the 820s to the mid-830s). Some accounts say he drowned after escaping his nurse, and he was buried in the Church of the Holy Apostles, with later records noting his coffin was placed beside that of his sister Maria.
